The International Dimension is central to
primary National Strategy. It refers to the way schools integrate
international issues within the primary curriculum which helps
children to view matters from a different perspective and to extend
their views of the world.
With increasing globalisation, children
need to start developing an awareness of the part they will play in
the global community of the future. Through learning about
worldwide communities, children begin to understand something of
their own identity as members of their school and other local
communities
The Intercultural Understanding strand of the
Key Stage 2 Framework plays an important
role within the International Dimension. Advances in technology are
enabling schools to create and sustain effective and rewarding
partnerships across the globe.
