Schemes of work for Key Stage 2 languages
The QCDA schemes of work have been developed for Key
Stage 2 pupils of all ages to enable them to achieve the
learning objectives in each of Key Stage
2 Framework for languages' five strands. These are
comprehensive and flexible materials intended for schools and
teachers to adapt for their own purposes.
The schemes are available in French, German and Spanish.
They comprise a total of 24 units: all units are now
complete. Units 13-24, orginally originally published
electronically in draft form, have now been finalised
after extensive trialling in schools. A Teacher's guide
accompanies the schemes.
The current 'new' schemes were published in July 2007 and
replace previous versions first published in 2000.
Download and order
All 24 Units for each language can be downloaded in pdf or rtf
format free of charge from the DCSF
Standards website:
Schools can order the complete set of units for one, two or
all three languages at QCDA Orderline.
Schools that received a free copy of units 1-12 in 2007 in any
of the languages can order units 13-24 to complete their set
and may, in addition, order a complete set of units in one or both
of the other languages.
To place an order you will need a QCDA Orderline user name and
password. Most schools already have these, but if not, there is an
email address and a phone number on the website to contact for
help.

Respect for all: Modern foreign languages
Key Stage 2
La Réunion is a Key Stage 2 case study featured on

language practice and exploring the intercultural strand of the Key
Stage 2 Framework for languages.
