Association for Language
Learning
ALL is a membership association for language teachers in the UK. As
well as offering training for its members through a
local branch network, ALL also hosts the annual Language World
conference.
Links into
Languages
Links into Languages is a government-funded network of regional
centres for the community of language educators in England,
delivering professional development courses, support for networking
and sharing of good practice as well as the latest information,
advice and resources. A range of courses are available across England designed
especially for primary language teachers.
Open
University
Offer the 'Teaching
primary languages' distance learning course for teachers,
teaching assistants and other primary practitioners who are
teaching or preparing to teach primary languages. This course is
part of a suite of professional development courses designed to
enable school practitioners to link their training directly to
classroom practice. Applicants complete the course online

Specialist Schools
and Academies Trust
The SSAT works to support and develop the specialist schools and
academies system by providing professional development events and
conferences.
The SSAT also coordinates networks for
teachers of Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Community Languages (Urdu,
Panjabi, Turkish) to exchange resources. Users must register for

Training and Development Agency
for Schools
The TDA is the
national agency and recognised sector body for training and
development of school the workforce. Their website provides
comprehensive guidance on routes into teaching,

The TDA also coordinate postgraduate
professional development for qualified and newly qualified
