The ITTMFL website was developed by CILT, the
National Centre for Languages working with the Training and
Development Agency for Schools (TDA) and in partnership with the
Association for Language Learning (ALL) and a number of specialists
from Higher Education Institutes in developing the project. The
project started in 2003 and produced highly valuable resources for
ITT providers in MFL. Since 2009/10, no funding has been
available to maintain and update the website.
Following a comprehensive review of our online services in
light of changes to funding arrangements, CILT decided to
close the ITTMFL website from 25th July 2011.
For those ITT providers in Modern Foreign Languages who
wish to continue to access some of the key resources created by the
project, please click here to
access an archive of the site.
The ITTMFL forum will continue
and is open to all involved in training modern foreign languages
teachers. The aim of the forum is to generate discussion,
information exchange and mutual support for providers of teacher
training, both in universities and in school-based programmes. If
you are interested in joining the community, please click here.
