CILT GTP
Ofsted report July 2009 (pdf, 165kb)
"I want to spread my own love of learning languages to
teenagers. My aim is to feed the students' curiosity about foreign
cultures."
(Former CILT GTP Trainee)
The CILT Languages GTP is an initial teacher training
programme for those who want to teach languages in secondary
schools in England or Wales. It is an employment-based route where
day-to-day work in school is combined with regular training
sessions.
For 2012-13, we will be offering two training
options:
- GTP for
mother-tongue speakers of French, German, Italian and
Spanish
- GTP in Mandarin Chinese
Both programmes take one year and
successful completion leads to
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
The CILT Languages GTP has been
providing initial teacher training in languages since
1998.
The CILT Languages GTP is part of the
CfBT/East Lincolnshire GTP.
