CILT has pioneered the collection and analysis
of statistical information as an evidence base for underlying
trends in language learning and language use, and we will continue
to extend and refine this area of work. In the education sector it
covers phases including primary,
secondary and higher education.
As the standards-setting body for languages,
translation, interpreting, and intercultural working, CILT also has
a duty to maintain and refresh information on language use in the
world of employment and the wider
world.
We have prepared answers to some frequently
asked questions on statistics. Our statistical summaries usually
contain time series from as early as 1990's to the most up-to-date
data. Use the left-hand menu to access these
summaries.
If you require further
information, please email
your statistical enquiries to us. We will aim to respond to
your enquiry within 3 working days.
