High Level Group on Multilingualism, Final report (short version) (European Commission, September 2007)

In 2006 the European Commission created a 'High Level Group on Multilingualism', comprising independent experts including the then Chief Executive of CILT.  Their report details the recommendations they made having discussed the following topics:

  1. Literary translation
  2. Languages for economic competitiveness, growth, and better jobs (Considerations evoked by a discussion of the ELAN study
  3. Creation of a European space for political dialogue and communication with the citizen
  4. Creation of a European public sphere.
