In September 2011 CILT’s Graduate Teacher
Programme (GTP) will be opening its doors to native speakers of
Italian and Mandarin Chinese in addition to mother tongue speakers
of French, German and Spanish.
CILT’s GTP is a one-year, full-time teacher
training programme for native speakers of these five languages who
want to teach languages in secondary schools in England or
Wales.
This employment-based route combines
day-to-day work in a school with regular training sessions,
combining a practical focus and valuable school-based experience
with specialist training offered by CILT, The National Centre for
Languages.
Training takes place in schools all over
England, allowing applicants either to apply to train in a school
where they are currently working or to apply for selection by one
of our nation-wide partnership schools.
The deadline for applications for the course
starting in September 2011 is 25 March 2011.
