All those involved in training language teachers should book now
for a place on CILT’s Initial Teacher Education conference in
Loughborough on 4-5 September.
The annual two-day conference is the
essential event for everyone involved in supporting trainees on
both primary and secondary Initial Teacher Education programmes for
MFL.
Whether you are a teacher trainer, a
mentor or a researcher, the conference’s wide range of workshops
will give you the chance to share ideas and discuss the latest
developments.
This year’s theme is ‘making the most of partnerships between
schools and HEIs’. Speakers include CILT’s Ann Swarbrick, Tanya
Riordan of Portsmouth University, Ann Gregory of York St Johnson
University, and John Trafford of Huddersfield University.
Further highlights include an update
on the Diploma in Languages and International Communication from
Terry Lamb of the University of Sheffield, and a review of
languages in the primary curriculum from CILT’s Therese Comfort. A
series of ‘In conversation with’ sessions will give delegates the
chance to take part in question and answer sessions with
researchers in their field.
The conference costs just £350 for two
days, including dinner and accommodation. To find out more and to
book your place visit CILT's event
