CILT helps link up schools and businesses
As part of its Business Language Champions
programme, CILT is supporting the LinkedUp award scheme, which
incentivises schools and colleges across England to develop links
with businesses. The scheme will provide funding for over 100
projects that demonstrate creative and innovative collaborations
that will transform language learning for young people.
Michelle Brassell, Employer Engagement Adviser
at CILT says: “CILT is delighted to be supporting the LinkedUp
Employer Engagement Awards. These awards will enable teachers
to develop innovative projects with local employers which will help
student to realise the career options available to them with
languages and develop valuable employability skills”.
There will be 18 awards in all – one per
region per year in 2009 and 2010. Applications are welcome from
primary, secondary and special schools, 16-19 colleges, local
authorities, universities and other organisations – so it’s a great
way for different sectors and networks to come together to make
language learning more exciting.
