Language enthusiasts might be pleased to hear that SOAS Language Centre has just announced its online taster sessions for Adult Learners Week (15 - 21 May).

The sessions cover beginner level Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Sanskrit - and will last 45 minutes each. It's an opportunity to get a flavour for the languages with expert teachers and other learners.

Those of you who are already involved in the teaching or learning of community languages might also be interested to hear about the 14-19 National Awards for Excellence in Community Languages. The deadline to enter this category of the competition - which could see your students winning cash prizes - has been extended to 31 May 2010.
