CILT is running a series of training events linking languages
with food, in collaboration with Le Français en Ecosse. The Food
for thought weekend courses provide teachers of French, German and
Spanish with cross-curricular materials and ideas through the theme
of food and gastronomy.
Suitable for primary or secondary school teachers, Food for
thought is aimed at boosting teachers’ confidence and methodology
in French, Spanish or German. A CD-ROM will be handed out to all
delegates with resources which can be used directly in class.
The weekend course will take place in Edinburgh from 1-2
October. The course costs just £175 for two days including all
meals and refreshments.
Teachers of French can also sign up for a week’s immersion
course in France in October, with all expenses covered by British
Council funding. This course is ideal for teachers who want to
improve their language skills and teaching methodology while
exploring the secrets of French gastronomy.
