Work

Languages Work has created a
number of resources whcih support the promotion of the real value
of languages in the workplace and beyond. They are designed for the
use of individuals, parents, teachers, lecturers and careers
advisers.
The Language Work Placement Toolkit
This is a popular resource which has been produced by CILT to
support teachers, language learners and others involved in language
work placements. It was updated in 2010 and now includes tips
for in-company mentors in French, German, Italian, Spanish and
Chinese as well as in English. In addition it includes signposting
to teaching resources in all of these languages. Download the

European Language Portfolio for Adult and Vocational
Language Learners
The UK adult/vocational European Language Portfolio (ELP) has been
developed for use by adults who are learning languages for work or
social purposes. The ELP has been used by learners in adult,
further and higher education, business language learners and
students following vocationally-related language courses. To find

Resource Bank (VLRB) offers free vocationally related resources
created by teachers for teachers. You can pick resources based on
the language, level, skill and vocational area of your
choice.

The Excellence
Gateway
The Excellence Gateway is an
online portal for staff in the further education and skills sector
packed with resources to support teaching and learning and
leadership and management, examples of effective practice and
self-improvement, teaching and learning materials, and suppliers of
improvement services.
The Regional Language
Networks
The (Regional) Language Networks in the
regions and nations, supported by CILT, the National Centre for
Languages throughout the UK, promote language and cultural skills
specifically for business and employment.
They provide a range of ideas and resources to
support language training and other services to business in their
area
Cheshire Netword
The Cheshire Netword
group exists for tutors of languages to adults, wherever in
Cheshire they may teach, to have the opportunity of networking with
other tutors in order to exchange ideas and experience.

Europa is a multilingual, virtual resources centre to support
